Mayra Rodriguez is the new president of Southwest Coalition for Life. She shares in a recent Christian News Wire report that she is advancing a new model for the future of serving pregnant mothers—a multi-state expansion of pro-woman birthing centers, something she describes to AFN as the total opposite of abortion clinics.
"It's amazing the opportunity that God keeps opening doors for me after leading three centers for Planned Parenthood for over one decade, almost two decades, and promoting reproductive rights the wrong way. Because we're still doing that — we're still promoting reproductive rights but in the right way," states Rodriguez.

The right way, she explained, means creating these centers, which she described as holistic places for women where they are not only targeting her body but also her mind.
"And how to let the mom do the whole work just the way God intended and nature intended for women to do it," says Rodriguez.
She emphasized that this is a big change, not only her redemption and conversion story, but so that it is understood that what is intended is life. She said that the intention is that these clinics will be in every city in America.
"My dream, besides helping women find a place for hope and dignity for their babies and for them, is also being able to create a space where I can tell abortion workers that we want you to leave that industry,” says Rodriguez. “And we have a place for you to work and find redemption and find forgiveness and find a purpose for life."
She spoke about the mindset of the people who are still working in the abortion industry as she used to. She understood how easy it was to be confused about the truth.
"It's very easy to support abortion and destroy the innocent, right? They can't speak. They can't move. They only have us to support them and protect them. It is the most inhumane thing we have ever done as a society — to kill someone that cannot defend themselves,” states Rodriguez.
She continued by saying that she knows these worker think they are doing a good thing for women.
“I myself for many years believed that abortion was something women needed until I saw the truth. I know the truth. Women get hurt," says Rodriguez.
